Thomas Bögl achieves 27th place in ABN AMRO’s Sustainable 50

Monday Oct 21, 2024

During the Climate Summit for the Built Environment, the winners of ABN AMRO’s Sustainable 50 for 2024 were announced. Thomas Bögl earned an impressive 27th place, a well-deserved recognition that highlights his contribution to advancing a more sustainable built environment. At LIAG, we are dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint while simultaneously enhancing the livability of our surroundings through nature-inclusive and climate-adaptive designs.

“Nature is our best example of a healing and healthy environment,” Thomas explains. “It is crucial to protect it, while also drawing inspiration from it.” This vision is clearly reflected in the design of Bioma for Wageningen University & Research. “We opted for a fully wooden structure to create a Paris Proof building. Additionally, we are integrating 1,000 m² of greenery by incorporating eco-lamellae on the facade, supporting plant growth and providing shelter and habitats for birds and insects. In this way, Bioma becomes an integral part of the ecological network.”

Climate Summit for the Built Environment
The two-day Climate Summit for the Built Environment brought together experts to define concrete steps toward achieving a Paris Proof built environment. Thomas emphasizes: “Only by working together can we achieve our goals. It is our responsibility to embed biobased, carbon-neutral, and climate-adaptive solutions into all our projects every single day.”
